Brett Paden has been working in tech for over 25 years, building teams and software that propel startups to successful exits and deliver enterprise-grade products for the acquiring parties.

Originally a doctoral student in Political Theory, Brett was drawn to the nascent internet industry with its promise of interesting problems and no boundaries on creativity.  His first CTO job was developing a sophisticated web-based marketing system that connected cosmetic surgeons with new patients.  Brett then pioneered the use of the internet in national political campaigning, delivering a PD- driven solution that connected volunteers to dynamic walking routes, call centers, and real-time election monitoring.  His first big exit came some years later as the tech lead of Multiply, a social networking site that pivoted into social ecommerce and sold to Naspers. With the same group of co-founders, Brett launched Glip, a business communications platform targeting the enterprise. RingCentral purchased Glip in 2013 and installed Brett as head of engineering for the newly created collaboration division. Brett grew Glip to become the flagship product for RingCentral, delivering chat, telephony, and video with 5 9s dependability.
